A Solitary Tear
He gazed upon me lovingly
Asked if I would stay near
Said i was all he wanted
And a yes he needed to hear
Thinking him not serious
I laughed, told him to stop
Then when he did not reply
How then my heart did drop
Looking deep into his eyes
They spoke telling me it's true
Turned his head to disguise
A pain he thought he'd rue
Head bent gazing at a rose
Silent now he did appear
A moment in time was froze
Except a single solitary tear
