A Soldier's Love
He bent to pick up the gun that had fallen to the ground
Wiped the sweat out of his eyes and carefully looked around
Although, he knew this may be the end
Tomorrow might not come
He prayed a silent prayer
There was still work to be done
He doesn't enjoy this
But, knows no other way
To protect his people
From the ones who lie in wait
To kill the innocent
They never think twice
Blinded by hate
Hearts colder than ice
He remembers the towers
How they fell that day
The heartbroken families
The hurt that won't go away
And, though he is afraid
He wants to do right
So, he picks up his gun
And walks into the night
Personally, you'll never know him
But, he's a father, a husband, a brother, a son
With family that will always miss him
Because, he had the courage not to run
Dedicated to all the brave men and women that are fighting for our
country......Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends.
