A Soldier Just For You

A SOLDIER JUST FOR YOU

Dear Lord, I really want to be a soldier just for You
Just like those men who fight so hard for the red, white, and blue.
I want to stand up straight and tall, though I am just a child,
And keep my body pure and clean and not be sin-defiled.
I know You said You loved me, Lord, and bade me come to You;
I know Your blood can cleanse my sin and make my life brand new.
I know I don’t know lots of things that other people know,
So help those, Lord, who teach me now the way that I should go.
And help me, Lord, as I would try to march in Your parade
To keep from doing things so wrong, to never be afraid,
To love my mother and my dad, my brothers, sisters, too,
But most of all, please help me, Lord, to grow in love for You.
Without You, Lord, I can’t do much, but with you, Lord, I can,
And so I give my life to You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
