A Soft Child
a soft infant child
curls into her mothers chest
counting heartbeats with her own
tiny hand pressed to her cheek
eyelids fluttering
resting
resting
listening to her mothers breath
sounds
a whistle maybe a song
then her mothers hands on the piano
a soft child
soars on the notes with her mothers voice
elemental
to all time
as music draws them away and away
breathing
beating
singing
one
