A So Called Friend

A relationship so divine
I value our friendship
A friendship that is so true
I appreciate that I know you

We listen to each other’s problem
Like two friends ought to
And even when I’m down and out
I have someone to talk to

You never let me down
I swear to God you always come through
Necessarily not a need
But it seems sometimes I want to

But we both are involved with other people
So feelings get stored away
Don’t ever know if we will unlock it
And put them into play

A great friend is what I call you
But can see us as more, it seems
Trying to keep our friendship on track
But our emotions intervene

So there are actions that we ignore
And situations that we avoid
At times it bothers me so much
It’s kind of hard to keep my poise

When there stress on my chest
I tell you to let it go
But this feeling deep inside
It’s like you already know

Life isn’t always what it seems
But only what you make it
Love seems to ruin things
So we agreed to keep our friendship sacred

Friendship is sacred. If anything else is meant to be, it will. Lovely tribute here to a wonderful friend. Nicely written. Love, Shar
