A Smile

A smile starts from within;
spreads from the heart
to the soul, to the eyes,
to the mouth.
A smile makes temporary creases
in the corner of the eyes.
It leaves a warm feeling;
means everything's "ok"
no matter how bad things get.
A smile erases hate,
fear, sadness,
keeps hope alive
even in the agony of defeat.
A smile is more valuable than money.
It says: "I care."
"I understand."  "I forgive you."
A smile is human or humane,
a form of love
few people get enough of.
