A Small Respite

Yesterday
I watched a child at play
and I recalled times of joy long past
of a happiness known but too fragile to last
like a sweet golden dream that I fought to hold fast
for a moment I was young again
bright sun shone through my pain
then came rain

In this type of poem, I would say the way you arranged it makes the punctuation unimportant.
