A Sinner Prayer

I’m Not Worthy (A Sinner Prayer) I’m not worthy of your blood, I’m not worthy of your love. I’m not worthy of your hand, I’m not worthy of your plan. I’m not worthy of your forgiveness, I’m not worthy of your thoughtfulness. I’m not worthy of your grace, I’m not worthy of your place. I’m simply not worthy! O’ Dear Lord, from up above, Why do you continue to give me love? When I have failed you every time, When I’ve refused to make you mine. When I’ve let temptation come in, When I’ve walked the road of sin. Yet you still knock upon my heart, Offering a brand new start. I’m simply not worthy! How do I learn from my mistakes? How many trials does it take? When will I finally take a stand? And grasp tightly your open hand. How can you still find the time? To deal with a lying heart like mine. When I’m not worthy of your love, I don’t deserve your home above. I’m simply not worthy! Please forgive me.

Jeff, I try to catch up with your poems every couple of days. I like the way you write. I also like a good spiritual poem. I wrote one a week for my Sunday School class the year I retired and moved away. They always made me feel good when they were done. Mike

Jeff you wrote a warm and very true piece of poetry. That is why people who obey the ten commandents or should i say try to, and think they will go to heaven, makes your poem even more true. No one is worthy of His love, we all deserve to go to hell, but God so loved the world that he sent His Son to die for us, if we accept that gift of His love. I don't have to tell you these things, you all ready know them. thank you for commenting on Fallen Tree.
