A Simple So Long
Keeping you at arm’s length
So I can regain some form of me
Somehow I have to find the strength
To get up off of my knees
Always thought I was broken
Never thought it could get worse
But you laughed in my face
and took my heart as a token
When did you become so twisted and perverse?
Sitting next to you kills me all over again
You smugly think this is a game you've won
You did not win
Oh how you did lose
Now you are all alone because with him she did choose.
Tossed away like yesterday’s trash
So long I’ve taken this from you
Wanting you to be happy
Not realizing what you intended to do
I hope it was worth it all
I hope she will always hear your call
You never missed me until I was gone
Well this time it is a final goodbye
Not a simple so long.
