A Simple Poet Ponders

A Simple Poet Ponders.. Along a lane of glowing orange trees, I leisurely sauntered. Reminiscing of my lovers in the past Then, suddenly, a strong wind blew them all away in a one, refreshing gasp! Instead, I pondered my virtues and failings,  in the stillness of the autumn morning dew. Hugged by loving trees on either side. Knowing that in God's hands, I did abide. The crunch of His leaves beneath my feet. I longed for the day, the face of my God to meet. 11/2/2019 12:30am *An addenda. Thanks to Line for correcting me via Soupmail re: a typo! In appreciation and love, Panagiota ***

Hello Panagiota … you really have set the scene in this poem for what a writer does best, and that is his thoughts to share - Thank you Panagiota - Lindsay

I certainly was entertained by that strong wind blowing away thoughts of your lovers, 'a refreshing gasp!' Like the way you put that... and your transition into the meatier, meaningful 2nd stanza. Poetically and profoundly done, my friend! Warmest wishes, Gershon

This seems to be the crux of this season. "Instead, I pondered my virtues and failings, in the stillness of the autumn morning dew."

No one is saying get out.. you do your thing.. don't worry about those things... also, people are busy, and when there are lots of poems, they seem to comment on those who comment on theirs.. sadly thats how it works around here.. expect for some who do not do it this way... and when there are hundreds of poems posted, it is time consuming and difficult to go through them all... smile my friend :)

Alas, I wish I felt as you.its like a whipping post putting my poems online. Some of the best here are ignored....look at the read numbers. I don't think I am a best poet, I hear a message to GET OUT. Other really great poets have low reads. I know of nobody new ever, who gets 200 reads a poem. But it's going on now. Hardly a mystery, Thanks. PR

He had second thoughts before he did. Recall, He asked his Father to let the cup pass from Him. Yes, If He had not died...but He did. What a sacrifice! XO
