A Simple Love Poem
'Tis this I seek to make me whole
An ounce of your affection
A simple smile, our shadows touch
A glance in my direction
A smile is more than what it seems
When worn upon your lips
It brightens even the darkest days
And spoils a solar eclipse
What must I do to make you see
My heart spells out your name
It cannot feel anothers love
And you my sweet, the blame
The breath I breathe has been reused
For your name is all it knows
I live behind these blinded eyes
For your beauty is all it shows
Just take one step in my direction
And let me know you see
I'll be your knight in shining armor
The one who sets you free
And if you should ever speak my name
My ears will hear no more
For when you hear an angel speak
You've now found Heaven's door
I'll wait until you pass me by
Then I'll no longer pine
But til then I know I have a chance
To one day make you mine
