A Sign of the Times

One of the nicest Christmas traditions I know
Involves a guy, a girl, and some mistletoe.
Or perhaps I should say that's the traditional way.
But in this age of sexual diversity,
Guys don't always kiss a biological miss,
And girls often prefer not a him, but a her.
But no matter the gender,
When the feelings are tender,
That should not be perceived as a sign of perversity,
And "beneath-the-mistletoe" kisses
Between misters and misters
And misses and misses
Are just a sign of the times that we live in today.

Today, the world is surrounded by magical contraptions, from supercomputers, maglev trains, and rocket ships and are flatly accepted, but when it comes to human emotional preferences different from those who's bigoted visions and feelings are the opposite, will never be accepted.
