A Ship Has Sailed

a ship has sailed
tears flowing
a labored breath
upon my cheek

off in the distance
dark shadows looming
out to sea her image fading

a ship has sailed

I really like this Marie, it is such a sad piece but then I suppose life has a lot of saddness. You create the picture very well in 9 lines. Would have meaning for a lot of people. Regards: Déirdre

I love the image of the fading ship moving beyond the horizon, Marie. It is compelling, too, as it leave us to wonder why the writer mourns. Well done!
