A Shimmering Luster
In spring sunlight won't
penetrate the dense forest,
while the redwoods grieve...
Their flat, sharp leaves are
dull, a shimmering luster
gives them full life again...
The oaks suffocate,
their new branches can't spread out:
their wish suppressed...
Moss-covered hemlocks
thrive, clinging to a vain hope:
no birds' song they hear...
Forests confine lakes,
embellishing their lush landscapes:
shading eagles' nests...
The cherry birches
have a shimmering luster,
they droop before dusk...
