A Shadow Lain
Our birth is a command, a cosmic voice.
We live by law past humans wield to be.
We fantasize the future as our choice,
Then crash head-on into infinity.
Reality's acuity thereof,
A quantum leap in magic lantern shows.
Beyond our minds to fix upon and solve,
Configured in a crayon sketch, below:
Collisions, light years, constellations wide.
An acquiescence stunning and profound.
Occurrences of unimagined fire
To place our simple shadow on the ground.
