A Shadow Emerges

I am very pleased to be able to present
a sixth collaboration with great friend and poet,
Robert Lindley, who is well known to you all
for his magnificent epic masterpieces.
Our latest collaboration is marked by
an unexpected brevity that has, I believe,
pleased us both in its pointed execution.
I am proud to continue to write
with such a fine collaborator.

A Shadow Emerges
A collaboration with Robert Lindley
6th February 2019

As its light was shining bright
a dark shadow crossed the scene,
a curse in the day and night
vile-blood spilled from its splintered spleen.
Sickness invades absent mind
doubts attack with no reprieve,
thoughts invade,darkest kind,
Hell acts fast, we must believe.

Shadow has taken its form
light's splendor, it now deforms

Darkness, deforming the light,
casts and forms the shadow’s might.

Having snuffed the shining light,
darkest shadow claimed the scene,
it no longer stood in sight,
for it was all, all unseen.
Scourge of Disease only ends
when death ascends to its throne,
now the form contorts and bends,
final chill darkens the bone.

Wow, you've captured well the way sickness invades, takes over leading in this case to death. Great collaboration!

Hi Lawrence, this is such an excellent collaboration by Robert and yourself. Two poets definitely singing as one. The emotions flow within this exceptional piece, such dark images your words do paint upon the mind's canvas. Such excellent darkness my friends. Have a wonderful Sunday. Your friend always....Mike.

Dark will fight the light, as light strives to shine through. Even though deep moments abound, shadows scatter in a room filled with light. Such a wonderful collaboration, Lawrence and Robert. ~ Brandy

Thank you my dear friend for agreeing to write again with me. Always an honor for me to compose with you. Also a nice break from my ongoing famous poets dedication series. Your great verses give this creation even more depth and dark that the opening had envisioned! Such is a great gift that you give each time we collaborate my friend.
