A Series of Verses

Will today finally be the day
Will destiny be fulfilled
Will all my dreams come true
Or will all my dreams be killed

The guilt of the past
Slowly begins to overwhelm
I am the captain of this sinking ship
As I stand here at the helm

I know this life
Rests gently in these hands
But there is so much left
So much left to understand

Everyday becomes just another day
What will tomorrow bring to me
For the sun will surely rise again
All that is left is to believe

This journey has become
A series of unchained tragedies
Every day another struggle
Infecting this soul like a deadly disease

Somehow I manage to steady myself
And work through the blistering pain
With only one question that is left to answer
Will I ever see you again

The answer remains
Yet to be seen by me
So when my time finally comes
I shall do my best to be redeemed

The End
