Notes About The Poem

A Sequoia Tree

A monumentally tall, flame-resistant tree;

Sequoia can achieve heights of between 150 and 280 feet, 
Elevations no other tree can reach. 
Qualifying it to be the world’s tallest living organism,
Unparalleled in nature's kingdom.
One of the oldest life forms on the planet 
Individual trees are known to be over 3,000 years old,
And it's believed some have lived even longer.

Taller than a 26-story building a
Redwood tree’s girth is what truly makes it a giant. 
Expanding to over 35 feet across, its thick trunk is
Encased in a bark up to 3 feet thick!
