A Sentimental Moment

A sentimental moment
Reflection of contentment

Drifting back to an important time
I feel peace and I leave my mind

My body is sitting still in the dim light of the evening
It is not so hot but still the fan is on and across my body blowing

Floating away to the land of yesteryear
I relive times of glory and times of tear

Learning from what I have seen and done and said and heard
My soul is filled with experience and wisdom word

I travel back to the present time and again I enter my mind
My body reacts with a scratch to the back of my neck on my spine

And I know what to do or not to do and where and when and why
Because of that sentimental moment that took me back in time
