A Second Chance At Life

There was an eight year part of my life
When my answer to any question that was asked of me was "I don't care",
I am very happy now to say that I have aged and have acquired a little more wisdom.
And my life goals and aspirations are no longer a stare.

I had truly hit rock bottom more than a time or two in my life
But I have had the courage and strength needed to climb out
It is no surprise that once your are out of the pit that you are scared
And may not possibly know which way to turn.
But if you keep God's strength, courage and hope in your heart,
that climb was something that you had earned.

All of my wrongs were put behind me
And I was given a fresh, new start
With that in mind, and starting over at forty
It was if God gave me a new heart.
