A Season In the Sun

A Season In The Sun

Yellowed leaf hang limp
on a branch of the oak tree
its season has passed

It's time for goodbye
soon it will drift in the wind
and fall to the ground

In sweet surrender
letting go in acceptance
the cycle of life

Life spent and well lived
in its season in the sun
through the high and low

embraced by nature
in all its temperament
that constantly change

The coldness of wind
the sweetness of rain pouring
the warmth of the sun

All have taught the leaf
lessons to be learned in life
to live in fullness

To gracefully bear
life in its adversities
in sadness and pain

To always be giving
in its time of abundance
to those who may need

And enjoy its blessings
its glorious days and moments
in all its season
