A Sailor's Dream
A CHANCE TO SAIL IS ALL I ASK
A CHANCE TO RIDE THE WIND.
I’VE DREAMED THIS DREAM A MILLION TIMES,
THEN DREAMED IT ALL AGAIN.
I’VE CAST ALL LINES, AND RIGGED THE SAIL,
I EVEN CHART THE COURSE.
MORNING COMES AND I’M STILL HERE,
JUST ANOTHER DREAM OF COURSE.
IT’S NO SENSE WAITING FOR YOUR SHIP TO COME IN,
IF YOU HAVEN’T SENT ANY TO SEA.
WITH THIS ADVICE I’VE TAKEN THE STEP,
I BOUGHT A BOAT YOU SEE.
SO NOW MY DREAMS WILL ALL COME TRUE,
AS SOON AS I CAST THIS LINE.
I’M GOING OUT TO RIDE THE WIND,
BUT I’LL (SEA) YOU AGAIN SOMETIME.
