"a Safe Spring Garden"

In front of my garden I sit in my chair..
The colors so arranged and done with such care..
Off in the back a daisy who has seen a better day...
For the weeds have strangled this flower in some unkind way..
To the left a tulip stands so strong and so tall..
Almost knowing the end will come in the fall...
The bees buzz around as they mark their food..
Or possibly making a new home if that's their mood..
I turn my head to see a hole in the fence..
Knowing that late at night the animals prey as they come and vent..
The sprinkler comes on and sprays them all with water..
Some will flourish with growth others will sadly falter
My garden is colored like a small Christmas town..
I hope to keep them safe and their roots firmly in the ground..

great thoughts--I see the buttercups shrivelled up like wads of discarded paper and the petals falling off the tulips. The winds whips the camilla carnage across the lawn. ---enjoyed!

This sounds like you have visited my backyard ( even from the tulips & hole in fence). I was sitting outside my garden yesterday & your words have put my right back there today. Very nice read.
