A Sad Goodbye

A Sad Goodbye
(Vir Tannie Charmaine)
By Dalene Deale-Rowe

Gone too soon
And we weren’t ready to say goodbye
Our hearts will be heavy
And our souls will cry
There are many things

I’ll remember about Aunty Charmaine
She had sad eyes
that always carried a bit of pain
But a naughty little giggle
and very infectious laugh

Always ready with a coffee
and a little bit of toast
For when we partied a bit hard
Which was probably more often than most

At home she’ll wait
While we all stayed out a bit late
Reminding us the next morning
That we created out own fate

She was a mom to many
And always welcomed us back
Regardless of how long
We had lost contact

I hadn’t seen her for a while
But I will always remember her face
And in many people’s hearts
She will always have her place.
