A Sad Day In Bali

2002 12 oct at Kuta on Bali Locals and tourists went about Their day calmly. This was going to be a day that would change Bali forever, the actions that happened next was not smart and was not clever. It was condemned that the attack Was a threat to international peace Its hard to comprehend that, the Islamic group will never cease. With various bombings In several different places These violent people Didn’t leave any traces. Osama Bin Ladin making a statement to the media he was very blatant. 8/11/2008 was a day we couldn’t Contemplate, 3 survived terrorists were executed by firing squad, whilst in their living life they portrayed to be god. Damage to the district was severe Shattering windows, several blocks away Down and past near cafés. With a meter-deep crater in the road, The disbelief of the enormity Did show. The hospital was ill equipped For the scale of the disaster And so many dying They had to call in a pastor. With 202 people killed, Burn victims a mass So much sadness The feelings would never surpass. With victims being put into hotel pools To ease their pain Was sickening and insane. Victims of all sorts of life Came to holiday, Not to get caught up in any strife. Westerners, holidays makers, Local people, just passer buyers Fell victim to evil Like in a web with spiders. Special thanks, goes out to the community That was there to help Awards were given, for acts of individuality heroism, with deep thoughts, that these evil people will not be forgiven. A memorial built at the sight Holds the names and nationalities Of those killed on this saddened day, It’s a place we can go to and pray. The monument lights up at night And flanked by flags I believe this is quite a nice sight. Kuta Karnival was created To give respect to the victims, Happens once a year, And it hopes to attract millions. Rest in peace to those that are deceased.

I had no idea about this. I do not pay attention much even to local news. Sorry that there was such tragedy in that lovely place. Congrats for a well deserved win in the contest.
