A Round Table Is Set With Gentle Kindness
A round table is set with gentle kindness
Set with bread, and wine and food for all
And to each nation we once made a promise
Our arms raised in welcome would never fall.
Then came the hidden, counting their days
Distorting truths of their faith ‘n tradition
Resolved to turn the weak to their ways
Then come to our table on their mission.
Our table is set, and all will be welcome
If they come in hate, we'll turn them away
We will not let it be destroyed by some
But only in peace ‘n’ love can they stay.
Now many are missing from our round table
Snatched away thru others bigotry and hate
In our grief and sorrow we will still be able
With hope and faith to set another plate.
Our raised arms sometimes do grow weary
But shoulder to shoulder we will carry on
Tho tears of loss keep our eyes bleary
We’ll heal one by one ‘till all hate is gone.
