A Round Table

King Arthur had the right design For when ideas abound Discussion goes much smoother At a table that is round. When more than four sit down to talk At tables long or square The conversation’s aimed at who Sits in the closest chair. So little groups will splinter off And miss the latest news Of those down at the other end, Affecting points of views. But when the table’s round, all those Participate as one And everyone’s caught up before The meal is even done.

This is terrific Ilene! Who was the dunce -- maybe Merlin, LOL --- who thought of rectangular tables, anyway?!! Smiles, Gershon

such an insightful poem Ilene, we went out for birthday celebrations on Saturday - there were 16 of us on one long table... we never got to talk to the others at the far end of the table. Just love your style my friend:-) hugs jan xx

Love this Ilene. What a clever piece. Leave it up to you my friend to pluck a theme out of thin air and create a fun poem from it.

Charming poem, Ilene. Good ol' King Arthur. The history came though in your poem.
