A rose

A rose defines the beauty of a flower,
as though most beauty lives by hour.
A petals, stem or lively green leaf,
The coloured rose, whom may live brief.

A rose for love and courting,
As a rose eternal on a grave.
The beauty one might care to offer
And love one cares to save.

A fair rose to stone and etching
Sketched to perfection, when drawn
As to love the peaceful sleep,
Once death has come to dawn.
