A Rope

Thoughts
Like dancers
Moving through my mind.

Sleep and peace,
I wish that I could find.

Sadness and fear,
A Darkness I can feel.

An exhaustion, a pain
I imagine it's not real.

Thoughts,
Like dancers
Moving through my mind,
A past, a failure,
Something I leave behind.

A future, a glimmer
A hope I dare not hope.
For those dancers
They dance
Tethered to a rope.
