A Romantic #1: a Decastitch With Rhyme

There will always be love, new desires and attractions;
Always the risk of danger and, the possibility of pain.
May I never let the chance that hurt might find me
Deny me days of sunshine, lost cause I anticipate rain.
Let me always have the courage to meet what the future yields,
Singing the battle-song of my heart, and love’s tender refrain.
Night does not the day conquer, nor winter the summer kill.
And pain is not the end of love; just a risk worth the sweet reward
At heart, a romantic, I have always been and, such ever shall remain.
So I will not lock my heart away nor, fear to risk to love again.
