A Reflection

You look at me that way,
Oh, I feel so small
So lost in the fog
So consumed by it all
It’s not something we talk about
Oh we wouldn’t dare
Wouldn’t even go there
Nor do we care
For the decision is yours
Or so it would seem
A total blackout
All I can hear is the scream
One step, two step
It feels like a dream
Not the happy ending type
That would be so simple
I’m sure if she smiled, she’d have the same dimple
But we mustnt dwell
It is so self indulgent
Don’t think of it that way
A tragedy can sway
But the heart is a muscle
And it moves with each beat
So much so
I can’t feel my own feet
There is a voice deep inside me
It speaks without words
So mystical
So cynical
Searching for chords
A song that won’t rhyme
A ryhme that won’t beat
Just a feeling
An emotion
Under your feet
