A Ray of Sunlight

A Ray Of Sunlight

We had a ray of sunlight
On a crisp and cloudy day
It looked like a sparkling diamond
In those clouds so deep and grey
It was a welcome pause
During days of winter showers
When one was scared to blink
In case they miss those daylight hours

A lovely day of sunshine
Was nice to see once again
It left behind the weariness
Of all that goddamned rain
It became a nice reminder
That spring is on its way
Oh, how it cheers my heart so much
To see blue sky, not grey

We had a ray of sunlight
But now that ray has gone
As evening sky is all afire
As a deep red sky comes on
This is natures parting light
That my glad eyes can see
That the beauty of some heaven
Is waiting there for me

Back to read this gem again my friend. I too love and have often written of that fire of deep red sunsets. Forgive me my forgetfulness please. And thanks again for this truly bright and inspiring jewel!

THIS IS A TRULY INSPIRING POEM MY FRIEND. Subject matter important, cheerful insight given and quite smooth . Do not worry about simplicity my friend as the legendary Frank Stanton wrote world class poetry based upon simplicity in form, message and revelation. A7 and a fav , as this brings cheer to the reader if they have a heart. pm on the way..

Yes, I often feel this way looking up at a sky of grey. So much better to see the ray of light and that fiery red at night. Great poem, Vera.

Thank you Andrea, sometimes we go to the quay which is just up the road from us and the sky is bright fiery red as the sun goes down but it is also fiery red outside our window first thing in the morning as the sun is coming up so we have the best of both worlds, take care......Vera
