A Raven's Tale
Oh mystical raven of the night
wherefore too is it that you do fly
through the clouds upon the wind of the darken sky
with a gleaming gaze in your eye
thy heart has blacken as thy wings are of darkest satin
In thy Quest to acquire an unfulfilled desire
that of precious stones with silver and gold
fasten and set arrayed which captures lights passage
by the falling down of the moonlit beam
high above the castle wall in a crevice of the tower
you hath made thy home
and fashioned it with decorations of all these things
that wherewith you mayest sit
and cast thy sight upon your own vanity
As for thy rest you seek it shall only come
when you sleep in the dust of Eternity
