A Rambling Mind

Many thoughts run through my head
As I lay here lonely on my bed
Army that! Army this!
The only place my heart now feels bliss

No more working a thankless job
I’ll soon be surrounded again by a military mob
It takes so much time, so much might
My God, this two year wait has been a fight

Making friends is not enough
Damn this patience, this wait is tough
Hopefully by the 23rd
The good news I seek will be heard

The Colonel makes his final demand
“Thirty-five Fox then to Afghanistan!”
Sights set sharp, ears open wide
I’m finally awaiting my final ride

Tired of people on a personal note
Have business with mine? No, no they don’t
Sir, get me the hell out of here with no haste!
This waiting is tiring, this current job a waste
