A Rainy Rarity
It was midnight at noon,
Or so it seemed.
A very sunny day,
Just minutes before.
In came the wind,
And that was when
Clouds like a curtain
Were drawn across the sun.
Darkness invaded the light,
And for a brief few minutes,
Rain poured with a mighty fall.
The sudden appearance of rain
Caused neither flood nor pain;
And just as suddenly, the rain also
Ceased, giving way to that sunny day.
I attest to the rarity of rain like that;
And 40 years removed from that rainy
Scene has not erased that rainy memory.
