A Quiet Reflection On the Mountain

I imagine there are thoughts in that head That I dare not touch for a while Thoughts of where you've been And victories over this life's trials-- But what did you see-see in me When you looked out of the corner of that eye? Was there a dream of something Or a taste of victory, or just a sigh? Was there a rush of feeling Pulling you from the landscape Drawing you to my heart And to the pull of my nape? It is moments such as those I come to understand Why the passion of men's hearts are the places women are banned. For, I am but a woman And an object of affection. And I know not to ask of that eye Or the constant infection I cause with rhymes such as these When there is a landscape of time Among the trees.
