A Quiet Pool
Quiet pool at night
Is such a beautiful sight
Moon shines on water
Cool breeze blows through trees
A joyful relaxing sound
By a quiet pool
The pool is quiet
One o'clock in the morning
Nobody's in there
Yes, pool is quiet
I would like to go swimming
At this time of night
Daytime's not so good
Pool full of screaming children
Very annoying
However, at night
Water's still and inviting
Good time for swimming
I like a cool pool
Water invigorating
Gets the blood flowing
Makes me feel alive
Swimming under the water
Over and over
Unfortunately
The pool has a fence 'round it
Locked, it keeps me out
It makes me annoyed
Cause I want to go swimming
Under the water
In a quiet pool
There I can act like the fool
Ignore all the rules
Cannot act that way
In the pool during the day
People in the way
That annoys me too
But no matter what I do
At daytime I'm screwed
But it's like I said
I like swimming at nighttime
When the pool's quiet
Can't go swimming now
So, I imagine myself
In the quiet pool
In the deep, dark night
There is something magical
'Bout a quiet pool
In a quiet pool
Fenced in, locked, but I'm no fool
Ghost's of swimmers past
Like to go swimming
At night under a full moon
In a quiet pool
In a quiet pool
Sometimes at night there are ducks
Swimming at night
The ducks are quiet
They seek a respit from life
Something I do too
Now, why can't I swim
With ducks in a quiet pool
Just me and the ducks
I seek respit too
From all the chaos of life
In a quiet pool
To swim in my mind
Yes, I must be satisfied
'Neath a full blue moon
Near the quiet pool
Yes, I sat there all night long
Writing this poem
On their way again
In the morning ducks had gone
Off to face their lives
I myself instead
Still sit by a quite pool
Waiting for my life...
