A Question Remains

A question remains between you and I
The answer to which
I've never known why

Why did you choose him over me
I thought what we had
Was so meant to be

It hurt me down deep, to the depths of my soul
What we were both in
Was not good you know

Falling away from the one, you chose as your man
In your moment of weakness
I would have given my hand

Since learning of that fateful day
I question my thoughts
My feelings dismayed

It was then that I had
To change all my ways
Feeling a loss that remains still today

So to ask you this question
Is not easy to do
Why wasn't it me , and him did you choose
