A Question of Mankind

The Lord created a beautiful world ,
Which was meant to be graceful.
Peace was to be the objective ,
And the idea was wonderful .

But , there was a problem...
He had a question about humans ,
"Would there be peace ,
or would there be grief ?? "

But he ignored that question ,
And created humans
And animals and plants
And what all not to mention .

Man had the power to think and to do.
And took advantage of that.
He created a different world ,
a whole new picture to paint for you .

Did he do this for need ,
did he do this for greed..?
man wants too much , too fast...
because he wants this world to last !

Ironic that in our attempt to improve on God's work we sew the seeds of our own destruction. Congrats on your win and thought provoking piece.

yes, much is done for greed in this world, and I am glad to see you tonight and find this poem I had somehow missed among all your recent ones. A merry Christmas to you too, my friend. I don't really care what I get for Xmas. It's just me and hubbie tomorrow and my daughter's little family. All I really want is for hubbie to get a job!!

Great poem and great point. So much truth in what you say, truth so many miss yet there it is in black and white for all to see. Well done! Thank You also for your comment.
