A Quarter of a Century

A QUARTER OF A CENTURY A quarter of a century! A special day for sure! You celebrate a marriage--a love you’ve seen endure. You celebrate each other, the times you have been through, The days of joy and laughter, the days of sorrow, too. Now as you are reflecting, I’m sure that you will say The quarter of a century just seems like a few days. You look now back upon them and wonder where they went, And think of all the memories in these years you have spent. The memories of your courtship, the day you said, “I do”; The honeymoon was special, I’m sure to each of you. The first place that you lived in, the first jobs, the first car, And how God up in heaven has been with you so far-- These all are special treasures you remember on this day, Now at this special milestone, we take this time to pray. We pray the years still coming will be as good and blessed, Your love will keep on growing, whatever is the test, We pray that God will bless you with many more good days, That each of you will prosper in all His righteous ways. Keep Him first in your family, keep looking up above, Keep trusting in His promise, keep giving Him your love. Keep Him there as your partner through all days yet to be, And blessings even greater the two of you shall see! --To any Christian couple on their silver anniversary.
