A Puff

Clouds floating by in azure skies
pushed here and there by fickle breezes
playing tag and forming magical shapes
as they dance in harmony across the skies

Little puffs of white giving shelter
from the blazing sun and uniting into
towering pillions that appear to prop up
great mansions and glittering silvery castles

Streaked with enchanting reds, yellows and oranges
with a little mauve tinge that soon purples
as dusk slowly starts to fall cloaking them
then behold the starry night as day now ends

Now the clouds darken seemingly ominous
as they obscure the moon from earthly sight
with a back drop of glittering stars blanketing the skies
at last the moon soars into view and peace returns once more

a very descriptive one, Shadow. I loved the sound of that one line about the towering pillions. I don't think I ever saw that word before!! Nice one to read as I go off for the night!!
