A Profound Lesson
I visited a doctor friend of mine
At night to find out if he is fine
Found a few patients in a line
My watch displayed time as nine
“Could you your precious time spare?
Let’s together get away from worldly care”
To decline his request I did not dare
Because they make thrilling life’s warfare
Entered a patient with left arm stretched out
Lacking strength even to shout
“It’s feeble” just that symptom he told all about
The affliction caused seeds of worries to sprout
My friend examined his hand
Fixing and removing many a band
Upon ‘the cause’ he did land
The prescribed pills of a particular brand
“The cause has been identified dear
Be happy! No more fear
Your hand will be normal this year
Tell you dear ones far and near.”
A smile blossomed on the patient’s face
Driving restlessness without any trace
Hopeful and happy to resume the race
So as to run filled with God’s grace.
Stretched out like a piece of plot
Blocking blood pumped out at every slot
It was an arterial blood clot
That pushed him into the afflicted lot
What was the lesson so profound”
I gained in a hospital ground
Holy Spirit gave me a mind so sound
I rejoiced at having a treasure found
In truth I came with a disturbed mind
God’s answers there I did find
Come to Me and do get bind
Repeatedly He did remind
“Your friend can help to some extent
As long as he lives in this earthly tent
Lo! To Me always you can your emotions vent
For this My only son Christ I had sent.”
To the greatest Physician all your troubles take
He’ll examine and pinpoint your mistake
His treatment will crush your every heartache
He promises never to forsake.
God let me to the still waters and I ran
Back home an enlightened man
Seeking mortal help first I did ban
From that day on, blessings filled my can.
