Can this really be called poetry? If it makes absolutely no sense, A plea for someone to notice you Really, I don’t mean any offense, But if it has neither rhythm nor rhyme The stanzas are without a theme, Speaks to no specific event or place As generic as a boring meme. Away with that well-worn thesaurus! Try describing a seasonal scene Maybe, tell an interesting story, but I need to know what you mean. Whatever you do, don’t impress me I’m giving you an edit, a second chance, Write from your heart what you know Before you turn it in, try to read it, Lance!

If I cannot figure it out "I need to know what you mean." I don't like it much either.

You know, Caren, I read some poems here on Poetry Soup that I wouldn't call poetry, at all. No theme, no rhyme, no flow, lots of words strung together, many of them I never heard of before. It's bewildering on a poetry site! I understand futuristic, modernistic, fantasy--all of these things, but some of the stuff is nonsensical without meaning to be so, I think.
