A Pretty Impressive Sweet Guy
He came sneaking through the grass on a summer’s day.
We jumped as we saw him heading our way.
A Komodo dragon, lizard, iguana or dinosaur?
We did not know, but some did not want to see more.
The chips went flying, and the dip fell on the deck.
I stayed to watch, because I thought what the heck?
He came closer to me; his legs running quite fast.
Got a really good look; he was actually a blast!
He stopped quite suddenly about six feet away.
I knew he could take me, but actually felt okay.
So how are you? I asked him. He nodded his head.
I threw him some potato chips which he bit ‘til they bled.
His choppers were impressive; his chewing quite loud.
Neighbors came out and took photos; it was quite a crowd.
As easily as he had slunk up to give me a quick hi.
He turned and was gone, a pretty impressive sweet guy.
