A Precious Thing

A precious thing is hard to hold,
even a crown that is made of gold;
If you're not cautious, it will slip,
and it may plunge you in the deep.

I once held a heart of gold,
yet, I'd let it slip my hold.
No matter how I'd try to forget,
it wouldn't quell my sour regret.

She was a gold without compare,
but to her heart, I failed to care,
for I thought she was to stay,
until one day, she fade away.

For, even a heart that knows no lie,
if you'll squeeze hard, it will die,
so with a gold heart that you will lose,
if you don't use your heart to choose.

The green golds of yesterday,
could hardly be seen today,
for they were handled without care.
I wish that men were more aware.

Thank you very much... Gold if mishandled could numb the heart and corrupt the soul... You'd be lucky if it just slip away...
