A Prayer To Achieve.

Lord, teach me to achieve.
Teach me to love what I do.
Teach me to do what I love.
Teach me to truly achieve,
but by your standards,
not the worlds',
so that I might achieve
that which is worthwhile
and lasting,
not fleeting
nor empty.
And,
when I am finally called
to give an accounting
of what I have achieved,
may what I have achieved
speak well of me,
so that I might achieve
that which is truly lasting-
eternal life.
AMEN.

This is dedicated to the following people who have
treated me with kindness and respect:

my life i felt free - I have been free for almost 6 years now and in that time I have undergone Hep C treatment, back surgery and knee surgery, bought a home, written 5 poetry books though one I'm redoing part of now, gotten all my children in my life, stayed Clean & Sober and by the grace of God I'm now a full time student in College and have the most wonderful wife that has ever lived - Then I read your wonderful poem asking the lord to help you achieve the things that really matter in life -

Gerard - The Lord works in mysterious ways I've been away a couple of days taking my assessment test for College and getting my schedule set, orientation etc. At 48 years old it is quite the experience especially with a past like mine - I was serving a term in Prison for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, was a Prison Gang Member and got placed in the S.H.U. for a stabbing when one day the Lord Jesus Christ came unto my life and I started to write Poetry and even in that hole for the first time in -
