A Prayer of Sorrow
when your spirit is gone and strength i lack
when thoughts and deeds the devil reflect
when sorry is fake and prayers, they cease
your words remind me you've got my back.
when i don't deserve it, mercy you show
when i don't want it your guidance is there
when i surrender to your omnipitence
the truth washes over me, 'cause you always know.
when fear of man overtakes me
when i turn away from all your teachings
when satan beats me for a while
because of you, these things won't break me.
when i am nothing but lower than low
when my fear was misplaced for so long
when being with you intimately is all i need
but i don't even know how to repentance show.
how i wish you'd hear my prayer
though i don't deserve your ear
how late is to late to justify wrongs?
i pray for a sign to know you're still there.
take me back under your wing
teach me to walk, 'cause i can't alone
save me, help me, show me the way
please, please, mercy bring!
