A Pound
Struggles, starving to loss every pound
Wishing my pants would start to fall down
Weighing myself everyday
Hoping a pound has gone away
At the gym everyday
Exercising, sweating paving the way
Once again praying
Pounds are not staying
Standing on the scale
Dreading the weighing
Dreams of clothes fitting right
Hugging my body tight
Cookies, cake, your mouth is watering, your will is weak
Your tummy is growling, like you have not ate in a week
My mind, my heart are not at rest
As I put my body through this test
Will I raise, will I fall
Can’t I lose a pound at all
Off to the mail I will go
To buy myself all new clothes
