A poetry war

A competitive poet with ego galore is always "one upping" to even some score. They disguise their sarcasm in metaphors. Most of the time I politely ignore as no one needs a poetry war.

Ah!! That's a jibe at the contemporary mindset among budding poets with an exception of a few of course. Also drives home the point that all should write poetry for poetry's sake. Beautifully written!

I agree, best to ignore.. no need for any form of war, let along a poetry one.. I have seen some trying to be clever hiding behind metaphors, not for competitive nature, but to offend people.. no need if you ask me..

Yes i know what you mean, as there was an incident just yesterday where i got some sarcastic comments on my poem that was placed in a contest, i write differently and if one doesn’t understand my metaphors they should maybe not comment why be sarcastic? Like youv said we are all different and we should learn to respect others work, as for me my work may sound strange for some but they are my emotions too. So i agree with you.
