A Poet Sings
Emotions rise like sea waves,
Crashing and splattering on the shore,
Powerful and wild, they want to spread
Their touch on the whole earth.
But my life is painted in dark shades,
The colors of reality seep into my soul,
And the waves of my emotions
Meet this darkness and retreat.
They return to my secret world,
As quickly as they come,
Laughing and saying,
“Oh, dear poet, you live in an ocean
Of dead hearts buried in an old well.”
I feel the weight of their words,
But I cannot deny the beauty
Of the emotions that I feel,
Even though they often come to me
In moments of pain and sorrow.
I am the ocean, and I am the waves,
Powerful and fierce, yet contained,
Trapped within the walls of my own mind,
Yearning to break free and be felt by all.
I remain in my solitude,
A poet lost in the sea of emotions,
My words the only way to express
The depth and power of my raging sea.
Let the waves crash upon the shore,
And let my life be painted in shades of gray,
For in my poetry, I find a way
To make sense of the chaos and the fray.
